Our packages often include specialized guides (e.g., in ecology, anthropology, or photography), access to private conservancies for unparalleled exclusivity, and curated interactions with local communities and research projects. We don’t just show you wildlife; we help you understand the entire ecosystem.
Our educational tours are tailored to various interests:
Wildlife & Conservation: Focused on animal behavior, tracking, and conservation efforts in national parks and private reserves.
Cultural Anthropology: Deep-dive experiences with Maasai, Hadzabe, and other communities, focusing on sustainable and respectful cultural exchange.
Geology & Paleontology: Tours to significant sites like Olduvai Gorge, led by experts in the field.
Photography & Videography: Workshops led by professional photographers, designed to capture Tanzania’s stunning landscapes and wildlife in the best light.
We offer both. Our TanzaQuest Exclusive line is entirely private, offering a personalized itinerary, dedicated vehicle, and private guide for your party alone. We also host Professional Group Quests for specific interests (e.g., birding, photography), which are small-group tours (typically limited to 6-8 guests) led by a specialist guide.
Our all-inclusive packages typically cover: park entry fees, accommodation, all meals on safari, professional guide fees, all game drives in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser, airport transfers and domestic flights as per the itinerary. Bottled water, coffee and tea are always available. Exclusions are international flights, visas, travel insurance, gratuities, and premium alcoholic beverages.
The process is simple:

We understand plans can change. Our policy is as follows:

Refunds for cancellations are processed according to the policy above. No refunds will be given for any unused services or late arrivals for any reason. Refunds are processed in USD and may take 7-10 business days.
You will have direct email and WhatsApp access to your dedicated safari consultant. In Tanzania, your guide will have a satellite phone for emergency communication in areas with no cell service. We also provide a 24/7 emergency contact number for families to reach us.
Passport: Must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry and have at least two blank pages.
Visa: Most travelers require a visa. These can be obtained online as an e-Visa prior to travel or upon arrival at major entry points (recommended to get beforehand). Please check the latest requirements from your local Tanzanian embassy.
Vaccination Certificate: A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required if you are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission.
We are not medical professionals and strongly advise you to consult a travel clinic. Commonly recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Anti-Malarial prophylaxis is essential for Tanzania. Your doctor will advise on the best option for you.
Your safety is our paramount concern. All our guides are trained in first aid and emergency response. Our vehicles are equipped with first-aid kits and communication devices. We have established protocols for medical emergencies, including evacuation to the nearest quality medical facility and contact with emergency services and your insurance provider.
Tanzania is a year-round destination:
Dry Season (June – October): Best for wildlife viewing as animals congregate around water sources. Excellent weather.
Calving Season (Late January – February): The time of the Great Migration calving in the Ndutu Plains (Southern Serengeti). Fantastic predator action.
Green Season (November – May): Lush landscapes, excellent birding, and fewer tourists. Short rains occur in November/December, and long rains are from March to May.
Clothing: Neutral-colored clothing (khaki, green, beige – avoid blue and black as they attract tsetse flies). Layers are key (mornings are cold, days are warm).
Essentials: A warm fleece or jacket for early mornings, a waterproof jacket, sturdy closed-toe shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and a swimsuit (many lodges have pools).
Gear: High-quality binoculars, camera with extra batteries/memory cards, power bank, headlamp, and universal power adapter.
Health: Sunscreen (high SPF), insect repellent, personal medication, and a small personal first-aid kit.
On game drives, comfort is key. In lodges and camps, the dress code is smart-casual. For cultural visits, we recommend modest dress out of respect (avoid short shorts and sleeveless tops).
The local currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). US Dollars (USD) are widely accepted, but bills must be series 2009 or newer and in good condition (no tears, marks). Major lodges and some shops in cities accept credit cards (Visa/Mastercard). However, cash is king for local markets, souvenirs and tips. ATMs are available in major cities.
Tipping is customary and a significant part of the service industry’s income. It is not mandatory but is greatly appreciated. We provide detailed tipping guidelines upon booking. As a general reference, we suggest:
Main Guide: $25 – $35 per guest per day
Lodge/Camp Staff: $15 – $20 per guest per day (placed in a collective tip box)
Private Chef/Specialist Guide: $15 – $20 per guest per day
